Although the TDS pumps already have 50 - 70% higher capacity than other traditional Screw Pumps due to the "Twin Disc" design the TDS Skimmers can now meet even higher demands for recovery capacity.

The TDS Skimmer technology was specifically developed for efficient operation in viscous oil spill situations following the Exxon Valdez disaster in 1989 in Alaska.

Several TDS Skimmers and Pumps are also successfully in use by SASEMAR and other Spanish oil spill response organisations during the ongoing disaster oil spill "Prestige" at the Galician coast of Spain.
