Orimulsion was refloated in a test tank and recovered from the water surface by means of ERE's unique and patented Oriliminator 30 Skimmer equipped with a FOILEX TDS 150 Pump.
The viscosity of the Bitumen before skimmer process was in excess of 2 million cSt but reduced to approx. 1,3 million cSt by means of a unique steam injection system developed by ERE for high viscous oil applications.

Foilex TDS Pump is installed through the skimmer collection tank effectively feeding the high viscous oil into the pump's pressure build up zone and pumped through 30 m (100 ft) of 4" rubber hose with 4,5 m (15 ft) vertical lift.

The tests performed through the courtesy of Environment Recovery Equipment Inc in Port Colborne Canada, were witnessed by several officers of the US and Canadian Coast Guards amongst others.
