The Oil Spill Recovery Package included one TDS 200 Sea Skimmer System, one Mini Skimmer System, two Hydrodynamic Circuses, Oil Booms and auxillary equipment such as Powerpacks, Hose Reels, Crates etc.

The OSR contractor Dai Minh Pte is operating at several of the oil terminals along the Saigon River and in the vicinity of Ho Chi Minh City. Trimar has an ongoing agreement with the contractor to provide technical assistance and training.

In early January Trimar carried out a one week training course for the Contractor's personell at the Contractor’s premises on a working barge in the Saigon River.The aim of the training was to teach how to handle oil spills in fast flowing waters.

With strong currents (up to 3-4 knots) and alternating directions 4 times per day this set up special conditions for equipment and deployment techniques. Trimar has been studying these particular problems for over 10 years in rivers in South East Asia.

The Trimar Sterling Group has since the early 90'ies been involved in activities to reduce the environmental threats caused by increased shipping and oil transfer activities on the extensive riversystems leading up to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. Besides sensitivity mapping and damage assessment work from previous spills, training in oil spill response has been conducted by Trimar at several occasions over the years.
