SFT used TDS 200 Pump when off-loading "John R"

The cypress tanker "John R" went aground 3.5 nautical miles west of Grotoy in Troms, Norway on December 25 with heavy bunker oil and diesel fuel.

Water entered into the engine room and the oil tanks. The Norwegian Pollution Control Authority (SFT) responded to the accident.

Before New Year was approx. 820 tons of oil emergency off-loaded from the tanker by personal from SFT oil recovery vessel "Oljevern 02" and the coast guard.

On the night of January 2 was the tanker broken in two parts. The stern sunk and ended at the reef with approx. 100 tons of oil left.

The remaining oil was successfully off-loaded with a Foilex TDS pump by SFT oil recovery vessel "Oljevern 02" during January 5 and 6.
