MDPC uses Foilex at YOKOSUKA Training Center

The Japanese Maritime Disaster Prevention Center (MDPC) in Yokosuka was established in 1976 to implement disaster prevention measures, stockpile resources and equipment for disasters and offer disaster prevention training.

The Training Center provides lectures and exercises to teach general knowledge and technique on fire-fighting and oil spill control.
In 1996 MDPC launched a specialized course for oil spill control training, which is corresponding to IMO, level 1 and 2.

A Foilex TDS 200 Sea Skimmer has been used since 1997 among other types of equipment for training purpose.

The skimmer unit has been especially appreciated for its efficiency, compact design and for being user friendly with regards to operation and service.

FOILEX Engineering AB recently received another order from MDPC for one more complete TDS 200 Sea Skimmer unit including Powerpack and hose packages. Delivery will take place in December 2000.
